Who we are
Hi, we are Lisa and Sarah.
We met as children living on the same street, sharing laughs and KitKats. As we got older life took its twists and turns as we each walked our own paths- a path that, for both of us, led through many years of turmoil. We lost ourselves along the way, but life has a way of bringing things round full circle. Years later, through this miracle of recovery, our paths crossed again-this time in a place of healing, growth and hope. Reunited not just as friends but as women rebuilding fractured lives and families, our bond is now stronger than ever.
What once connected us in childhood now connects us in purpose: a shared passion for recovery and helping other lost souls to find their way home.
For over 30 years we have both lived in the grip of addiction and alcoholism. Drugs and alcohol were our way of surviving the world, but over time they gradually took everything from us- health, relationships, and hope. We have been lost, stuck in a cycle that we felt impossible to escape.
Something changed. We both found recovery through the 12 steps. For the first time, we have begun to understand ourselves and the reasons behind our pain. With support of others who have walked the same path, we have embarked upon a journey of healing. Learning to live one day at a time, how to take responsibility, and how to find peace and joy in life without needing to numb ourselves with substances.
Recovery has given us and our families a second chance at life and more than that it has given us purpose.
Now through The ARC we want to give back. We want to create a safe space for others who are ready to change their lives too. Because if recovery is possible for us, it is possible for you.
At The ARC – you’re journey is our mission.
